Finding a great Adventure Race Camp is no longer an obstacle.
If slugging through mud, climbing over barriers or toting a log up an impossibly steep hill sounds like your cup of tea, you might just be ready for the hottest thing in modern fitness—Adventure Racing.
Races like Tough Mudder, Urban Disturbance, Spartan Races, Muddy Buddy and even Zombie Races are popping up seemingly every week. But finding training for such an unconventional endeavor used to be as difficult as completing the race itself. Not any more.
Boot Camp Fitness and Training now offers weekly workouts sure to prepare first-timers or adventure race veterans for whatever the course may throw their way.
If you have a good running base and want to develop the physical strength, mental toughness and overall endurance required for adventure racing, our training sessions will help you discover your weaknesses, and then obliterate them.
Laurel Blackburn, owner of Boot Camp Fitness and Training, has already trained clients for The Death Race, widely considered the toughest adventure race on the planet. But even your goals are slightly less aggressive, expect a challenge when you arrive.
Check our calendar for upcoming camp dates. Contact me if you would like to schedule a private, specific type of camp for you and your friends.
You must register here the Friday prior to the workout, as space is limited.
Its guaranteed to be an experience you never forget.

THE BEST!!! I trained with Laurel and Boot Camp Fitness and Training for the 2011 Death Race (also completed my first marathon and Ironman 70.3 during that training). Her dedication, attentiveness, and creative simulations helped prepare me physically and mentally for the grueling 44 hour race I would endure. Sleds, telephone poles, wheelbarrows, ravines and tires. Pushing, hauling, flipping, slamming, and crawling. I know I couldn't have gotten this preparation anywhere else in Tallahassee or anywhere within 100 miles of Tallahassee. Laurel's Boot Camp WILL push you to your limits and then help you rediscover what you can do.

You will get exactly what you want out of this training, if you are willing to put in the effort to get it. Laurel provides the perfect tools for you to carve out your best self, if you’re willing to take yourself there. I was on cruise control in my workouts before actively seeking and bringing Laurel into my plans to compete in the 2011 Death race. Prior to this I felt like I was in good shape, I seemed strong and capable. I was the guy running around boot camp workouts in a weighted-vest. After 8 months of conditioning at this level, I look back at that old person and snicker. I don’t know who I was kidding. I don’t know why I thought I had reached my potential. This type of training woke me up and forced me to re-evaluate myself and my goals. I had settled. This removed that settling.
During the 8 months working with Laurel and her Bootcamp facility I shaved over 23 minutes off my previous year’s half marathon time. I also had the ability to chop wood for 4 hours straight as a workout, and then run a 5k later that afternoon and take 3rd overall. Though I didn’t finish The Death Race, I still gave it hell for 33 hours and came out of it rather physically sound. I took my conditioning into the summer (with minimal upkeep) past The Death Race and competed in The Spartan Beast in Killington and finished in the top third of all males.
This was a reality check for me. And I hope it’s a lesson that will stay with me for a long time. This training helped me accomplish so much, and the more I look back on it, the more invaluable it becomes.
