We did this really fun workout last week that really challenged the entire core from top to bottom. Everyone loved it even though it was pretty tough.
Don’t have ropes and chains at home? No problem. You can drag anything. Just stay low and tight.

This week we did something a little different in our workout. Although our workouts are always different and very unique, we’ve decided to add some challenges. The military refers to these as Gut Checks. We divided the groups into teams of 2. Each team was given a Prowler (pushing sled), a pulling sled, a sandbag, a log, 2 heavy Kettlebells, an ammo can and a wheelbarrow full of heavy items. The goal was for each team to get these items up hill and around the block in the allotted time. Multiple switches were done throughout the 3/4 mile block so that everyone had a chance to use each item. We ended our workout with heavy Kettlebell Farmers Walks around the lot and up 3 sets of stairs. Not only were heart rates soaring but muscles that they never knew existed were put to the test.
So if you get bored with your fitness routine and want a unique workout that is challenging and fun then join us. We have a FREE trial waiting for you.
To quote one of our morning boot campers, “The devil wears Umbros”. I met everyone this morning in my devil costume complete with blinking horns that I bought at my last AC/DC concert. They knew right away this was going to be HELL.
After a warm up we did mini workouts.
1. A Kettlebell Deadlift, Swing ladder just to get their hearts racing and glutes firing.
2. 15/15 swings for 15 sets
3. Rows and Push ups on the KB
4. 10 Jacks and 5 Burpees every minute on the minute for a long time
5. A big lap with the KB in the rack
I don’t know if what I heard was screeches of delight or horror.
I love Halloween!
It could be those sleepless nights, or it could be too much coffee, it may have even been revenge for having to wear North Carolina gear, but Mike’s hill or rather, hell workout proved to be quite a hellish workout. It left everyone wondering if we were starting hell week rather than week 2.
The workout took place between our parking lot and the parking lot over at Garnet and Gold which is down the street and has a nice steep hill leading up to their parking lot. The campers started with lunges up the hill to an area in which a whiteboard full of exercises was. They had to do 1 set of exercises and then run back to our parking lot and do the first set of exercises on the white board over there and then run back to Garnet and Gold, lunge up the hill, perform the 2nd set of exercises, run back to our lot, perform the 2nd set of exercises there and continue on until all exercises were completed, time ran out, or they dropped dead (no one dropped dead) most ran out of time…..except of course Ricky.
Here is a montage of some different evening groups doing this workout. It’s hard to film the morning people because it’s so dark.
